Automatic Driving Lessons
Automatic lessons in a dual-control car with an accredited instructor. Your first lesson starts with how the car works, then builds from whatever level you are already at.
How lessons work
Your first lesson starts in the car, stationary, going through the controls — where everything is and what it does. Once that is clear, we drive. Every lesson after that picks up from where you actually are, not from a fixed script.
Across your lessons you will cover:
Steering, braking, mirrors and observation
Intersections, roundabouts and lane changes
Reverse parking, angle parking and hill starts
Multi-lane roads, school zones and night driving
Test manoeuvres and the routes examiners use
Your logbook
If you are under 25 in Queensland, you need 100 logged hours, including 10 at night, before you can sit the Q-SAFE practical test. One hour with an accredited instructor records as three hours in your logbook, capped at 10 lesson hours. Ten lessons gives you 30 logbook hours and leaves 70 to do with a supervisor. We sign your logbook at the end of every lesson.
If you are 25 or over, there is no logbook requirement.
Automatic only
We teach in automatics. In Queensland, passing your test in an automatic puts an 'A' condition on your licence — automatic vehicles only. That condition does not lapse over time here; the only way to remove it is to pass a test in a manual. Worth knowing before you book.
