Test Day Package
Use our dual-control automatic for your Q-SAFE practical test. Starts with a 50-minute warm-up drive, then your instructor takes you to the centre and waits while you test.
What happens on the day
We pick you up about an hour and a half before your test time. You drive for 50 minutes - manoeuvres, a few of the roads around the centre, whatever you want another go at. Then we head to the customer service centre and you sit the test in the same car you have just been driving.
Your instructor waits there until you are finished and drives you home either way.
What you need to sort out yourself
Book the test. You book your Q-SAFE with Transport and Main Roads and pay their fee directly. We are not able to book it for you.
Get your logbook approved. If you are under 25, TMR has to approve your logbook before test day. Submit it well ahead — a couple of weeks, not a couple of days.
Bring your learner licence. No licence, no test.
The car
Registered, roadworthy, L-plated and inspected before the test, which is what the examiner checks first. Book it early — test slots and our test-day bookings both fill up.
Passing in an automatic puts an 'A' condition on your Queensland licence. Automatic vehicles only, and it stays there until you pass a test in a manual.
